Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Job Title: Release Train Engineer (RTE) Location: Charlotte NC Employment Type: Contract (W2, 1099 H1B transfer , Citizen) Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to serve as the servant leader and chief facilitator for an Agile Release Train (ART). The ideal candidate will drive alignment, coordination, and execution across multiple Agile teams while ensuring successful delivery of business value. This role will bridge business strategy and technical execution by managing Program Increment (PI) planning, dependencies, risks, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Product & Program Planning

• Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning and readiness activities.
• Align Agile teams with business priorities, OKRs, and strategic roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Product Owners to ensure features are prioritized and ready for execution.
• Facilitate planning sessions and support delivery commitments.

Execution & Delivery Management

• Coordinate and oversee execution across multiple Agile teams within the ART.
• Track progress against PI objectives, milestones, and delivery commitments.
• Facilitate ART events including ART Syncs, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Ensure transparency and predictability in program delivery.

Dependency & Risk Management

• Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies.
• Proactively address risks, impediments, and escalations impacting delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve blockers and maintain execution momentum.
• Maintain risk registers and dependency tracking artifacts.

Agile Coaching & Governance

• Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on Agile and SAFe best practices.
• Promote servant leadership and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).
• Drive Agile maturity and organizational transformation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Provide regular updates on program status, risks, and delivery outcomes.
• Act as a liaison between Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
• Present program performance metrics and delivery insights to leadership.
• Facilitate effective communication across cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery, program management, or engineering leadership.
• 3+ years of experience working within SAFe or similar scaled Agile frameworks.
• Proven experience managing multi-team Agile programs and large-scale initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master Certification.
• Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira, Rally, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise technology environments.
