They are our greatest asset, and we invest in their development, well-being and career aspirations.The opportunityThis is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Associate Air Quality Engineer or Scientist to take a key role in leading and growing T+T’s air quality business in Australia. You will be the driving force behind our Australian air quality offering - building client relationships, winning work and delivering technically excellent projects - all backed by a strong, collaborative trans-Tasman team of around eight air quality specialists.You will work across a broad range of industries and project types, undertaking air quality assessments, dispersion modelling, odour and dust impact studies, ambient monitoring programmes and the preparation of regulatory documentation. Your work will directly support clients in navigating the Australian and state/territory regulatory environments, from project approval through to ongoing compliance.Whether you are already based in Australia or looking to make the move, this role offers genuine scope to shape the future of our Australian air quality practice, influence technical direction and develop your career amongst a team of highly regarded specialists.What you’ll do

- Lead and grow T+T’s air quality business in Australia, including business development, client engagement and proposal preparation;
- Undertake and manage air dispersion modelling (e.g. AERMOD, CALPUFF) to assess air quality effects from industrial and development projects;
- Assess the impacts of odour, dust and hazardous air pollutant discharges;
- Manage ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring programmes;
- Prepare and review technical reports, environmental impact assessments, works approvals and regulatory submissions;
- Provide expert input to regulatory approvals processes under Australian Commonwealth, state and territory legislation;
- Lead and mentor junior team members across both sides of the Tasman;
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure, industrial and resource sector projects; and
- Contribute to T+T’s technical community, including thought leadership, peer review and continuous improvement of best-practice approaches.
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years of experience in environmental consultancy with a strong focus on air quality;
- A degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications advantageous);
- Demonstrated expertise in air dispersion modelling and the assessment of air quality, odour and dust effects;
- A sound understanding of the Australian regulatory framework for air quality, including the National Environment Protection Measures (NEPMs), state and territory EPA licensing and works approval processes, and relevant planning legislation;
- Proven business development capability - experience winning and managing client relationships and growing a consultancy portfolio;
- Strong project management skills, including budget management and multi-project delivery;
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills;
- Experience working within or leading multi-disciplinary project teams;
- An enquiring mind and the drive to deliver high-value, practical outcomes for clients; and
