- Plan, coordinate, and oversee weekly youth and children’s church activities, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and age-appropriate
- Lead Sunday school classes and special events, fostering a positive spiritual environment
- Develop programmes that promote moral values, teamwork, and personal growth among children and teenagers
- Mentor young people through one-on-one support and group activities, encouraging their faith journey
- Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to organise fundraising events for youth programmes
- Maintain a safe environment by implementing safeguarding policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and church members regarding programme updates and upcoming events
- Assist in training volunteers to deliver effective teaching and mentoring sessions
Experience
- Prior experience in teaching or mentoring children or young people within a community or faith-based setting is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and church leadership
- Experience in organising events or programmes aimed at youth development
- Knowledge of hospice care or working with vulnerable children is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to fundraise or organise community outreach initiatives is a plus
