Job description
To provide expert-level clinical pharmacy services to the ophthalmology department. The post holder will lead pharmaceutical care for patients with ophthalmic disease.
The role involves managing both inpatients and outpatients, contributing to MDTs, attending specialist clinics, leading service development, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, cost-effective, evidence-based use of medicines.
The post holder will also act as one of the deputies for the Lead Pharmacist for Ophthalmology, ensuring resilience across ophthalmology pharmacy services.
Establish and lead a specialist pharmacy role for Ophthalmology Services, providing senior clinical leadership and acting as an expert for medicines optimisation.
Provide an expert level of clinical pharmacy services to Ophthalmology inpatient and outpatient services at UHSussex NHS Foundation Trust
Will help lead specialist clinical pharmacy practice for ophthalmology and be responsible for the delivery, development, evaluation and co-ordination of clinical pharmacy services in line with the objectives of the division and the UHSussex pharmacy strategy.
