Equine Veterinary Surgeon - Hertfordshire Full‑time, independent practice, salary circa £63,000 DOE, 1:5 out‑of‑hours, beautiful rural location. We are a well‑established, independent equine‑only veterinary practice looking for an experienced equine veterinary surgeon who enjoys orthopaedics, ambulatory work and mentoring. - Full‑time, 5 days a week (part‑time applications considered)
- 1 in 5 weeknight on‑call and 1 in 5 weekend on‑call
- 3 stables, surgical suite, treatment room with stocks and lameness assessment areas
- Full range of modern diagnostic treatment including objective gait analysis
- Team of 4.5 FTE vets, 2 RVNs and 4 support staff

Skills
- Particular interest in orthopaedic work but skilled in all areas of first opinion/ambulatory clinical work
- Ability to perform more involved procedures (poor performance/lameness, internal medicine, minor surgical/dental, anaesthesia, pre‑purchase examination or a combination)
- Experience in stud work very advantageous
- Enjoyment of mentoring less experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses
- Confident staff and client communication
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively within a team
