This Programme Manager role offers the opportunity to join a growing deep-tech startup where you’ll help bring structure and clarity to complex hardware programmes within the communications space. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to enable delivery, improve workflows, and ensure projects move forward in a controlled and transparent way. It’s a role suited to someone who understands how to support technical teams without over-engineering processes.
The role operates on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Theale or West London.
Our client is building advanced hardware in a highly technical environment and is at a stage where strong programme coordination is critical. They are looking for someone who can introduce the right level of structure, support engineers effectively, and help scale delivery as the business grows.
As the Programme Manager, you’ll focus on enabling teams through strong project workflows, rather than owning every detail yourself. You’ll play a key role in how projects are tracked, communicated and delivered across the organisation.

- Supporting engineering teams by improving project workflows and delivery processes
- Managing and optimising Jira workflows to ensure clarity and accountability
- Coordinating timelines, dependencies and priorities across multiple workstreams
- Acting as a central point of communication between teams
- Supporting general operational needs within a small, growing business
What You’ll Bring
- 5–10 years’ experience in project or programme management within a technically complex hardware or software environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira workflows (beyond basic board management)
- Experience working in startup or scale-up environments
- Ability to bring structure without slowing teams down
- Proactive, flexible mindset with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities
