Consultant Histopathology - Substantive or 2 Year NHS Fixed Term - ManchesterCONSULTANT HISTOPATHOLOGIST VACANCY – MANCHESTER AREA An NHS Trust in the Manchester area is seeking to recruit a Consultant Histopathologist, either on a Substantive or 2-year NHS Fixed Term contract. Department Details: Our client is a busy and friendly department supporting multidisciplinary teams in cancer specialties including breast, upper and lower gastro, lung, urology, gynaecology, head and neck, and haematology. Patient Activity Data:
Approximately 90% of requests are from hospitals and 10% from General Practitioners. The department does not perform cervical cytology. Applicants must have full GMC registration; specialist registration is not essential. FRCPath qualification is desirable, but those with FRCPath Parts 1 & 2 are also encouraged to apply. Overseas applicants will be supported with Certificates of Sponsorship if required. - General Histology: 29,068 requests
- Diagnostic Cytology: 3,075 requests
- Dermatopathology: 8,631 requests
- Neuropathology: 1,231 requests
- Coronial post-mortem cases: 550 requests
- Frozen sections: 150 general, 250 neuropathology
