Specialty Doctor – Endocrinology in Gender Identity Clinic Grade:
Specialty Doctor (NHS Medical & Dental).

- Provide specialist medical assessment, diagnosis and formulation for patients with gender dysphoria.
- Formulate and deliver patient‑centred management plans.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care.
- Advise on diagnosis and treatment within the team and to external providers.
- Coordinate and/or refer to evidence‑based interventions for service users.
- Provide advice on hormone therapy for adult patients and liaise with primary care for monitoring.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks related to the clinical role.
- Participate in service development through audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with GPs, hospital doctors and other community teams.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- EEA eligibility at the time of application.
- Post‑graduate certification.
- Higher degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) preferred.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrated experience in medical specialties (broad‑based or core medical training) appropriate to the role.
- Minimum 24 months experience working within the NHS.
- Experience with gender non‑conforming patients, including knowledge of psychosocial and physical health issues.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of research, ethics, audit, clinical risk management, evidence‑based practice, patient safety and clinical quality improvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‐informed practice and clinical governance.
