- Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and organisational standards
- Providing personalised medication counselling to patients, including advice on proper usage and potential side effects
- Monitoring patient medication regimens and making recommendations for adjustments in collaboration with healthcare providers
- Maintaining detailed records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and medication inventories
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment
- Educating patients on health management, including lifestyle advice related to medication use
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care outcomes
- Managing stock levels and ordering pharmaceuticals as needed to ensure availability
Skills
- Proven experience in a pharmacy setting, ideally with ICU experience or specialised knowledge in critical care environments
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate medication management
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and inventory management
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of current pharmaceutical legislation and ethical standards within community pharmacy practice
