Our team is committed to providing exceptional care, and we are looking for a dedicated Office Manager to support our operational and administrative functions.The Home Care Assistant is responsible for providing personal care and practical support to clients in their homes, helping them to live independently and comfortably. The role involves delivering high-quality care that meets individual needs, ensuring the dignity, safety, and well-being of each client is maintained at all times. The Home Care Assistant will work closely with clients, their families, and the wider care team to provide exceptional care services.Key Responsibilities:1. Personal Care:
  • Assist clients with daily personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care.

  • Support with mobility and transfers, including the safe use of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs, and walking aids.

  • Provide assistance with medication, following care plans and ensuring that clients take their prescribed medications safely and on time.

  • Help clients maintain their personal hygiene and comfort, ensuring they feel confident and well-cared for.

2. Practical Assistance:
  • Assist with household tasks, including light cleaning, laundry, and tidying, ensuring the

client's living environment is safe and comfortable.
  • Prepare meals and drinks according to clients' dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring nutritional needs are met.

  • Assist with shopping, either by accompanying clients or completing shopping tasks on their behalf.

3. Emotional Support and Companionship:
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, helping clients to maintain a positive outlook

and engage in social activities.
  • Offer conversation and engage clients in activities to reduce loneliness and isolation, helping to improve their mental and emotional well-being.

  • Encourage and support clients in maintaining hobbies, attending appointments, and participating in community activities when appropriate.

4. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Monitor clients' health, well-being, and safety, noting any changes in their condition or

behaviour.
  • Report any concerns, incidents, or changes in clients' needs to the Care Coordinator or Registered Manager promptly.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care notes, medication administration, and any other relevant documentation.

5. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other care professionals to ensure

that care plans are followed and updated as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and meet the changing needs of clients.

  • Actively participate in care plan reviews, providing feedback on clients’ progress and any changes in their needs or preferences.

6. Health and Safety:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and follow the company’s policies and

procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow infection control protocols to reduce risks and protect both clients and staff.

  • Assist in implementing risk assessments and follow safe working practices to minimize hazards and prevent accidents.

7. Compliance and Confidentiality:
  • Ensure compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other relevant

regulations.
  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times and follow data protection regulations regarding client records and personal information.

Required Skills and Qualifications: • Experience:o Experience in providing care, preferably in a domiciliary or home care setting (preferred but not essential as training will be provided).
  • Education:

o NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Communication Skills:

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.o A compassionate and patient attitude, with a genuine desire to help others. • Time Management:o Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ensuring punctuality and efficiency in meeting clients’ needs.
  • Teamwork:

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and workingcollaboratively to deliver quality care.________________________________________Personal Attributes:
  • Compassionate and Empathetic: Demonstrates a caring and supportive nature, with the ability to provide emotional comfort and reassurance.

  • Flexibility: Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to meet the needs of clients.
