You will work closely with the director and operations team to analyse our processes, design and configure systems, build reporting dashboards and support the day‑to‑day smooth running of our IT and data environment. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys combining technical skills (SQL, reporting, integrations) with an understanding of business processes and a willingness to work hands‑on in a small, entrepreneurial professional‑services firm.Key responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and optimise our accounting, CRM and practice‑management systems (e.g. user setup, workflows, integrations, templates, automations).
  • Design, build and maintain management information and KPI dashboards using SQL and business‑intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI or similar), including data extracts, transformations and visualisations.

  • Ensure that all client and internal data is handled securely and in line with GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Produce clear technical and process documentation for internal users.
  • Provide user support and training to colleagues, explaining technical concepts in clear, non‑technical language and helping staff adopt new tools and ways of working.

Skills, experience and qualifications Essential
  • Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience) in computer science, information systems, data analytics or a related field (RQF Level 6 or above).
  • Proven experience in systems analysis and configuration, ideally gained in a professional‑services, financial or similar data‑rich environment.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming and combining data from multiple sources.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one business‑intelligence or reporting tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Good understanding of data security, access control and GDPR‑compliant handling of client and financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical colleagues and deliver effective user training.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a small team.

Desirable
  • Experience with accounting, practice‑management or CRM systems used in accountancy or financial‑services firms.
  • Experience with APIs, scripting or low‑code tools to automate data flows and business processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and common SaaS business tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams).

  • Close working relationship with the director and senior decision‑makers.
