IT Support Specialist | Ara Institute of CanterburyHelp keep learning powered by technology.Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking a customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide technical support to staff and students while ensuring the reliable operation of classroom technology, computer labs, and digital learning systems. Work Location: In person
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and user issues
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom technology
- Support Microsoft 365, learning management systems, and cloud-based services
- Troubleshoot network, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions
- Respond to service requests through the IT help desk and ticketing system
- Prepare and support technology for classrooms, laboratories, and campus events
- Maintain technical documentation and deliver excellent customer service
Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in IT help desk, desktop support, or technical support roles
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting educational technology environments
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), or Azure services
- Familiarity with ITIL service management practices
- Experience with audiovisual and classroom technologies
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, or ITIL Foundation
