Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational space for children, fostering their growth and development through organised activities and personalised care. Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and other daily routines to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment that supports children's physical and emotional needs.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Observe and record children's progress, behaviours, and developmental milestones to inform future planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies.
  • Assist with organising outings, events, and special activities that enhance the children's learning experiences.
  • Support colleagues in managing behavioural challenges with patience and professionalism.

Skills
  • Proven management and leadership skills within a childcare setting.
  • Experience working with children in nurseries or early childhood education environments.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate childcare expertise with a focus on child safety and development.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities.
  • Compassionate approach with the ability to foster positive relationships with children and families.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
