Pier 33 Moolooaba is seeking highly motivated individual to join their Functions & Events team. In this hands on position for a person whom loves executing high end events functions and Weddings, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse range of events and functions, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximising revenue opportunities. Pier 33 operate Wednesday to Sunday with the key days being Thursday – Sunday. What you'll be doing
  • Manage all aspects of the function and events operations, including booking, scheduling, staffing with GM and catering to kitchen (have Exc Chef and Function Chefs)
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and provide creative event solutions
  • Prepare event proposals, event plans
  • Coordinate and oversee event set-up, execution and post-event activities
  • Manage the events team, providing leadership, training and performance management
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club's function and events capabilities (working with marketing team)
  • Monitor industry trends, attend expo’s and identify opportunities to enhance the club's events offering

What we're looking for (we train our team or you will )
  • Extensive ability to want to learn or have skills, in a similar function and events management role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and delivering a wide range of corporate, social and community events
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to maximise revenue and manage budgets effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers and the events team
  • Outstanding organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in using event management software such as Function Tracker and other relevant technologies
  • Knowledge of the local event industry and regulatory environment
