The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care, supporting patient education, and assisting in maintaining a comfortable and efficient clinical environment. Responsibilities
- Conduct dental examinations, including assessment of oral health status and medical history.
- Perform professional dental cleaning procedures, including scaling and polishing.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning alongside the dentist.
- Operate medical imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride applications and sealants.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all clinical equipment is sterilised, maintained, and used in accordance with health and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Therapist or Hygienist within a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and dental procedures.
- Experience operating medical imaging devices such as X-ray machines.
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures and sterilisation techniques.
