OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Packhouse Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong engineering and maintenance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.As a Packhouse Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of packhouse machinery and equipment. You will help minimise downtime, support production efficiency, and contribute to a safe and productive working environment.The individual will need to be able to work across a Sunday - Thursday shift pattern. Pay: £38,000.00-£50,000.00 per yearBenefits:
Work Location: In person
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on packhouse machinery and systems
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures
- Work closely with production and operations teams to support daily targets
Skills & Experience
- Engineering qualification or relevant technical background
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, food processing, or packhouse environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach and willingness to support operational needs
- (Desirable) Experience with conveyor systems, automated machinery, or packaging equipment
- (Desirable) PLC knowledge and troubleshooting experience
- (Desirable) Food industry or fresh produce experience
