About us The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes. Our research and teaching reflect our interdisciplinary approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on a broad range of public health issues, such as alcohol and tobacco use, heart disease, cancer, and obesity. Further information can be found at: www.ucl.ac.uk/epidemiology-health-care/research/behavioural-science-health About the role The postholder will be based within the Research into Eating, ACtivity and Health (REACH) group, in the Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health at UCL. The project aims to better understand physical activity in UK pregnant women, to improve health and wellbeing in women and their children. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of epidemiological research and be expected to take undertake advanced quantitative analyses, including using longitudinal and routinely collected data, and writing relevant research papers. Demonstrable experience and confidence in liaising with multiple external (NHS) collaborators/sites will be required. Application Details: This is a fixed term contract with external funding until 30th Jan 2029. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on award and confirmation of a PhD (or equivalent). If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B, point 28 (salary £ 39,148- 41,833 per annum inclusive of London allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. You should have high-quality academic publications, evidence of undertaking research into women’s health or maternity care, and demonstrable skill in planning and undertaking advance quantitative analysis. You will have experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders and NHS professionals, knowledge of good clinical practice, and experience of undertaking Participant Involvement and Engagement activities. You must be able to manage time, prioritise workloads, resolve research challenges and work to deadlines across several tasks.
