Automotive welder

Irvine Smash Repairs is looking for a dedicated and experienced Automotive Welder to join our team in Malaga, WA. This role specialises in cutting, patching, and attaching vehicle body panels and structural parts.Applications or expressions of interest for this position will be accepted for a minimum of 4 weeks from the date of this posting. Employment Details:· Job Type: Permanent, full-time· Schedule: 6 days a week· Salary:$77,000 AUD - $80,000 per year Core Responsibilities:·Precision Cutting: Expertly cut and remove damaged vehicle body panels or frame sections.·Fabrication & Patching: Fabricate, shape, and fit custom patch panels to restore vehicle integrity.·Structural Reattachment: Seamlessly weld replacement parts back onto the vehicle body and chassis. Key RequirementsWelding Expertise: High proficiency in MIG/MAG (CO2) welding and spot welding.·Cutting Tools: Extensive experience operating plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, and angle grinders.·Thin Metal Handling: Proven ability to weld thin sheet metals without causing thermal distortion or burn-through.·Technical Skills: Ability to read technical blueprints and use precision measuring tools for perfect part alignment.·Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to workshops on safety protocols and consistent use of full personal protective equipment(PPE).Required Equipment & Gear (Candidates must be familiar with or provide)·Machinery: MIG/MAG welding machines, plasma cutters, and industrial grinders.·Hand Tools: Auto-darkening welding helmets, professional C-clamps, and metal locking pliers.Safety Gear: Fire-resistant leather welding jackets, heavy-duty gloves, and steel-toed boots.
