Consultant Nephrologist | Major Tertiary Teaching Hospital | Queensland
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major tertiary teaching hospital in Queensland and are keen to connect with FRACP-qualified Nephrologists interested in full-time opportunities within an established and high-volume Renal Medicine service.
The role includes acute inpatient nephrology, chronic kidney disease management, dialysis oversight and outpatient renal clinics. Consultants work within a structured multidisciplinary framework and contribute to education and service development.
This opportunity will appeal to Nephrologists seeking tertiary-level practice combined with regional impact.
The Hospital & Renal Services
This is a large tertiary referral hospital serving a vast regional and remote catchment across northern Queensland.
The Renal service includes:

• Acute and complex inpatient nephrology
• Chronic kidney disease clinics
• In-centre haemodialysis services
• Oversight of satellite dialysis units
• Integration with ICU and acute medical services
• Structured referral pathways for renal transplantation to metropolitan centres
• Teaching and supervision within a recognised training environment

The service manages a substantial renal workload reflective of its broad geographic catchment.

Requirements

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Nephrology
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
• International Medical Graduates assessed by RACP as partially or substantially comparable
