We are seeking an experienced Seafood Retail Assistant Manager to join our busy seafood shop in Manly, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service and driving sales growth.What you'll be doing
- Assist the Store Manager in leading and motivating the retail team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage the ordering, receiving, storage and display of fresh seafood products to maintain inventory and quality standards
- Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on seafood selection, preparation and cooking
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and hygiene regulations
- Monitor and report on store performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Support the Store Manager in administrative duties and roster management
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years' experience in a retail assistant manager or senior sales assistant role, in a seafood or fresh food environment
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for providing an exceptional shopping experience
- Excellent product knowledge and the ability to educate customers on seafood selection, preparation and cooking
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Advanced filleting skills proficiency is required to optimise product yield and maintain quality standards
