Cook/Chef

Salary $75,000-$85,000 per annum + superannuation. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes for à-la-carte and function service
• Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment
• Portion and plate meals attractively to presentation standards
• Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements
• Check deliveries and ensure quality of ingredients and stock
• Store food safely and maintain correct stock rotation procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and WH&S regulations at all times
• Assist with quality control and consistency of dishes
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices when required
• Support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations during busy service periods

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, café or catering environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual and professional

Qualifications (preferred)

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
• Food Safety / Food Handling certificate
