An established agribusiness operation in the Bendigo Region is seeking an experienced and hands-on Breeder Farm Manager to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated agricultural professional to lead farm operations focused on maximising hatching egg production, flock performance, and overall farm efficiency.

About the Role

This is a highly operational role requiring a strong on-farm presence and hands-on leadership approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall farm performance, bird welfare, egg quality, and production outcomes while leading and supporting farm staff.
The role involves a minimum 50% hands-on involvement in daily farm operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily monitoring of bird health, behaviour, and flock performance
  • Managing feed, water, lighting, and environmental conditions
  • Overseeing egg collection, handling, and quality assurance
  • Troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Coordinating daily farm activities to maximise output and efficiency
  • Monitoring key production metrics including egg numbers, fertility, hatchability, and mortality
  • Ensuring compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and quality standards
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting farm staff
  • Driving operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting breeding and long-term production strategies

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Previous experience in poultry, breeder, broiler, or livestock farm management
  • Strong hands-on operational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading and supervising teams in a farming environment
  • Sound understanding of animal welfare and biosecurity practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage farm performance outcomes
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
