About the role
As the Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Upconversion Quantum Microscopy, you will work under the supervisor of Prof. Jiajia Zhou. Your main focus will be on developing a new quantum microscopy technique utilizing near-infrared photon pairs as an excitation source and conducting systematic assessments of various upconversion nanomaterials through the quantum microscopy.

Base Salary Range: $94,152 - $114,672 (Level A) / $125,240 - $148,229 (Level B) plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full-time and will be made on an 18-month fixed term basis.

- PhD in quantum physics, quantum optics, optical engineering, nanophononics, or optical spectroscopy.
- Proven ability to conduct original research with high-quality outputs.
- Strong knowledge and practical skills in optical engineering.
- Experience building and troubleshooting wide-field, confocal, or super-resolution fluorescence microscopy systems, including optics, electronics, and software.
- Understanding of quantum light sources, including single-photon and entangled photon systems.
- Knowledge of coherence properties in quantum optics.
- Experience applying quantum principles to fluorescence microscopy and quantum-enhanced imaging.
