The Cedarville University School of Engineering and Computer Science is looking for exceptional faculty to join our Electrical Engineering program and help us train outstanding Electrical Engineers who integrate highest level technical skills with an active Christian faith to transform lives across the world. Our program emphasizes rigorous academics combined with extensive hands-on learning and service opportunities. Appointment is anticipated at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Rank is commensurate with experience and credentials. Eligibility for a tenure-track appointment will be determined based on institutional needs and candidate qualifications at the time of hire. The School of Engineering and Computer Science offers an ABET-accredited BSCE degree program, in addition to ABET-accredited BSCpE, BSEE, and BSME degrees and BS degrees in Computer Science and Cyber Operations. The school currently has over 750 students across its six primary disciplines. Position Responsibilities: This faculty position primarily focuses on teaching and mentoring students within an undergraduate engineering program. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses and laboratories in a variety of electrical engineering areas, advising students, and advising senior design projects. While school administration will seek to align teaching duties with the candidate’s specific areas of engineering expertise, there may also be a need for the successful candidate to teach in other electrical, computer, and general engineering areas as required for the BSEE curriculum and other programs in the school. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the continuing development of an innovative curriculum with a strong focus on lab-based learning and project work. Employment is subject to the University's verification of credentials along with other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. - Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; or
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, plus at least 6 years of professional engineering experience in a relevant area of electrical engineering. Candidates without a terminal degree may be required to enroll in further graduate-level studies as a condition of employment.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate engineering and professional subject material to students.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team with students and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage in Christian mentorship and discipleship in both one-on-one and larger group contexts.
- Ability to provide professional mentorship and career guidance.
- Articulated commitment to and understanding of biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
- Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
