Senior Scaffolding Estimator / Commercial ManagerLocation: Hayes, UB4 0SD

Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary to PermanentJoin One of London's Fast-Growing Scaffolding ContractorsHeathrow Scaffolding Ltd is an established and rapidly expanding scaffolding contractor delivering high-quality access solutions across London and the South East.As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Scaffolding Estimator / Commercial Manager to lead our estimating and commercial department.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who wants to play a key role in the growth of a successful business, with genuine progression into a senior leadership position.The successful candidate will initially join on a Temporary to Permanent basis, with the intention of offering a permanent position following a successful probationary period.You will work on a wide range of projects including domestic, residential, commercial, industrial and temporary roof scaffolding contracts valued from £2,000 to £2 million.About the RoleReporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the estimating and commercial functions while helping drive the company's continued growth.This role combines technical estimating with commercial management, business development, client relationship management and tender leadership.You will manage enquiries from initial client contact through to successful project handover, ensuring every quotation is technically accurate, commercially competitive and delivered within agreed timescales.Key Responsibilities

- Review enquiries, drawings, specifications and tender documents.
- Carry out site surveys where required.
- Prepare accurate and commercially competitive scaffold quotations.
- Price domestic, commercial, industrial and temporary roof scaffolding projects.
- Prepare quotations for projects ranging from £2,000 to £2 million.
- Produce detailed labour, material, transport, design and plant cost estimates.
- Liaise with scaffold designers, suppliers and operations teams.
- Attend client meetings, pre-start meetings and tender interviews.
- Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Negotiate quotations and commercial terms with clients.
- Lead tender submissions and framework applications.
- Manage project handovers to the Operations Team.
- Maintain estimating databases and quotation records.
- Develop estimating systems, pricing structures and commercial procedures.
- Mentor and support junior estimators as the department grows.
- Build long-term relationships with developers, roofing contractors, principal contractors and housing associations.
- Support the Managing Director in achieving the company's strategic growth objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Scaffolding Estimator.
- Strong understanding of tube and fitting scaffolding and system scaffolds.
- Experience pricing commercial and residential scaffolding projects.
- Good knowledge of temporary roof systems.
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Competent using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and estimating software.
Desirable Qualifications
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder or Scaffold Inspection qualification.
- Knowledge of scaffold design principles and temporary works.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors.
- Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts.
- Knowledge of NASC guidance, including TG20:21, SG4 and current industry best practice.
- Experience pricing highways, pavement licences and local authority projects.
- Existing relationships with developers, roofing contractors, principal contractors or housing associations.
