Matilda Health Care is a developer and operator of boutique Australian private hospitals that provide premium in-patient care and day programs that foster health and wellbeing in a five-star health care setting.We provide services in selected medical specialties including rehabilitation, voluntary mental health, medical, geriatric and palliative care.We’re setting a new standard in private hospital management and operations - delivering a premium level of patient care, service and experience in a boutique “hotel-like” setting.Matilda Nepean Private Hospital is nestled in Kingwood, in a world-class medical hub at the base of the Blue Mountains in Western Sydney, adjacent to Nepean Public Hospital.This new 90-bed sub-acute flagship opened in February 2023.

Position Function:
- To provide continuous on-site medical support services to meet the needs of patients, consultants and clinical staff. This includes emergency management and providing a general service to all clinical areas
Patient Care & Key Clinical Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care under the supervision of Consultants.
- Communicate with patients about their condition and management, or with their immediate family.
- Ensure effective discharge planning occurs with involvement of the patient, family and/or other care providers;
- Complete discharge summaries promptly, ensuring patients, General Practitioners and other care providers have adequate information to continue care.
- Carry phone while on duty and participates in afterhours and weekend rosters as required. Is contactable and able to return promptly to hospital when on call.
- Organise requests for pathology, radiology and other investigations.
- Communicates and co-ordinates within a multi-disciplinary team in regards to management plans, drug prescriptions, diagnostic requests, consultations and discharge plans which will be reviewed daily.
Essential criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration - will consider supervision
- Minimum 1 year CMO experience
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Australian resident or appropriate working visa (Sponsorship may be considered for the appropriate candidate).
