Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NWSSP Finance Team in the role of Assistant Management Accountant (Systems). Based in our HQ in Nantgarw, Cardiff, although with the likely need to work from home in the short to medium term, the role will provide you with a wide range of experience in financial management across NWSSP. The role requires a hard working, committed individual with financial experience and a good eye for detail who works well as part of a team working to strict deadlines.

Main duties of the job

This position provides comprehensive financial management advice, support and information to managers at all levels. The key elements of the post include the production of an accurate monthly financial position, annual and ad hoc costing work, and supporting the budget holders on all financial matters.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria
  • Part CCAB qualified or studying for a CCAB qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of NHS Finance
  • Experience of using Oracle Financials

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of basic principles of accountancy/financial management and financial management systems
  • Excellent Oral and telephone skills

Desirable criteria
  • Ability to use Microsoft Access and PowerPoint
  • Ability to convey financial information to non-financial managers
