Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. Medical Staff in the Canberra Health Services enjoy excellent conditions, and our Enterprise Agreement is available at: ACTPS Medical Practitioners Enterprise Agreement 2023 - 2026 The CHS Medical Imaging Department operates 24 hours, seven days a week, offering a wide range of imaging modalities. The service provides state of the art radiology including X-Ray, CT, MRI, PET, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine services for patients in Canberra and the Southeast Region of NSW. There is ongoing growth of the TCH Medical Imaging Department, most recently with the opening of the new Critical Services Building (CSB – Building 5) in 2024 which contains 3 x CT, 1 x 3.0T MRI, 1.5 T MRI, 3 x ultrasound rooms, and 3 x specialised Interventional Radiology Angiography Suites including a hybrid CT-Angio suite. We are committed to providing our patients with cost-effective, easily accessible subspecialty expertise along with a strong commitment to research and training in advancing the use of imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The primary training site is The Canberra Hospital, divided between the original Medical Imaging Department and Critical Services Building which also houses Emergency Department, ICU, surgical theatres and acute surgical wards. Trainees are regularly rotated to additional local sites which include Weston Creek Imaging Service, TCH Fetal Medicine Unit, ACT BreastScreen, Canberra Imaging Group (private practice rotation) and rural rotation sites of Orange, Bathurst, and Dubbo. Canberra trainees are expected to complete three to six months of rural rotations during the five-year training program. All applicants must be registered with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), with a College Registration Verification Number (CRVN).
