Position Purpose
This position serves as a faculty member in the Educator Preparation program and as the Division's Data Assessment Specialist. This role contributes to Maryville College's academic mission through excellence in teaching while also developing, implementing, and maintaining assessment data aligned with accreditation standards.
SUMMARY
Maryville College invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Education and Data Assessment Specialist. This hybrid faculty role combines teaching responsibilities with the coordination and oversight of annual assessment collection and reporting.
Teaching responsibilities represent approximately 60% of the position and include instruction in teacher education courses. Data Assessment responsibilities represent approximately 40% of the position and include the collecting, analyzing, and reporting of data relevant to the Educator Preparation Program.

- Master's degree in education
Experience required
- Minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience in U.S. public school settings, teaching students in grades K-12
Preferred qualifications
- Experience teaching early, adolescent, or disciplinary literacy and/or social studies
- Experience in data management and/or compiling and submitting reports of a complex and exacting nature
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teaching and Student Learning (60%)
- Teach methods courses in literacy, social studies, and strategies for diverse learners
- Develop syllabi, course materials, and assessments aligned with program learning outcomes
- Design and deliver effective learning experiences that support student success
- Maintain accurate records related to instruction and student progress
- Contribute to curriculum development and revision within the educator preparation program
- Advise teacher education candidates
Data Assessment Specialist (40%)
- Uss Via (Watermark) to collect, store, and analyze teacher candidate key assessment data
- Perform various duties including obtaining data, preparing analysis, reports, surveys, and statistical summaries as needed for annual accreditation reporting
- Ensure that the collection, storage, management, access, and reporting of student- and program level data is efficient and of high technical quality
- Develop and track an overall master calendar schedule of data collection tasks
- Coordinate with the Director to ensure accurate and timely communication of information impacting candidate recruitment, admission, and retention
- Coordinate with the Director to track and report all enrollment, retention, completion, and post-graduate employment
- Administer surveys to graduates and employers and analyzes survey results
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditation requirements

- Maintain professional expertise in the discipline
- Participate in scholarly, creative, or professional development activities consistent with faculty expectations for lecturer appointments
Institutional Service and Faculty Governance
- Participate in department meetings and faculty meetings
