We have great food, Cold drinks and Townsville’s best water views.Harbourfront Hotel has vacancy openings for Cooks. We are looking for a qualified and experienced candidates to join our team. The suitable person must be qualified and must have experience serving a full range of foods. Major Duties:· Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.· Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).· Prepare full range of foods including breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a bar menu and pizza, and pasta.· Cook food in various utensils or grillers.· Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.· Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy.· Prepares foods to the specifications of the client.· Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns.· Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature.· Seasons food according to recipes or company needs.· Orders ingredients and spices as needed.· Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference.· Assists other cooks during the food assembly process.· Devises new recipes.· Estimates expected food consumption and organises preparation.· Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience.· Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins.· Communicates with owner about how to improve meal service.· Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.· Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.· Liaise and work with the head Chef and is expected to assist him to ensure safe and efficient production of food, while maintaining all statutory requirements.· To behave in a manner appropriate to your standing within the business. Qualifications: · AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent of 3 years of work experiences as a Cook. Main Skills and Experience: · Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cook in similar capacity.· Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task.· Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.· Attention to details.· Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.· Strong work ethics.· Ability to work under pressure.· Experience in similar role.Pay: $76,515.00 per yearBenefits:
