Firewall Engineer

Job Title: Firewall Engineer Location: Preferred: Charlotte, NC (Brevard), Las Colinas, TX, or Chandler, AZ Duration: 12 Months Pay Rate $65/hr (W2) H1B: $60/hr (W2)
About the RoleWe are seeking a Firewall Engineer to join a large enterprise Information Security Engineering team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise firewall solutions while helping secure critical network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong Palo Alto and/or Fortinet experience, a solid networking foundation, and experience working in large corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Engineer, implement, and maintain Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewall solutions.
• Analyze and resolve complex network security and firewall-related issues.
• Support enterprise security initiatives and infrastructure projects.
• Work with networking teams to ensure secure routing and connectivity.
• Participate in security design reviews and infrastructure planning.
• Ensure firewall environments align with security and compliance standards.
• Create technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience and/or Fortinet firewall experience.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and routing.
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting experience.
• Security certifications such as PCNSE, NSE, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Experience with firewall automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Cloud security and hybrid networking experience.
