Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, Procurement department based in Denbigh Regional Stores, North Wales.

The successful applicant will be part of a team providing medical and non medical consumables to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Powys Teaching Local Health Board and Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (North). This will involve the picking and packing of items ready for delivery to sites, following orders generated by hospital staff.

Main duties of the job

A vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Operative, based at Denbigh Regional Stores on a full time basis. The shift pattern will either be 6am to 2pm or 8am to 4pm (Monday to Friday) to be agreed on recruitment.

The successful candidate will work as a member of a team that receives and picks orders ready for delivery into hospital sites. Candidates should have previous stores experience, be industrious and customer focused and understand the importance of a high quality service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse and Distribution (or willing to work towards) OR 3 GCSE’s (including Maths and English)
  • Equivalent level of experience

Desirable criteria
  • Basic knowledge of medical and surgical items
  • Working knowledge of Quality systems and procedures

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Previous experience of working to Health & Safety requirements

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of operating mechanical handling equipment
  • Previous use/awareness of handheld devices

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Excellent Communication Skills

Desirable criteria
  • Ability to travel to other sites if necessary
  • Able to operate mechanical handling equipment
