At Trade Me our vision is to be the place where Kiwi look first. Our Product Designers are responsible for producing visual and interactive design work, as directed by the Product Lead. You'll design great solutions that meet both user and business needs in an engaging, 'Trade Me' way. You will have a bias for action, good communication skills and be able to collaborate openly with a wide range of people throughout the wider Trade Me business. **Here is what you can expect from this role:** * Foster a culture of design collaboration and advocate for great design practice through leading by example. * Work with more junior designers by providing considered and compassionate advice and feedback. * Work with cross-functional teams to deliver classifieds product roadmaps to solve customer problems and deliver business value. * Use creative problem solving, such as Design Thinking, to guide design processes to understand the best way to solve customer problems. * Produce wireframes to effectively visualise a concept, using paper-based sketches and/or software. * Prototype concepts to help validate solutions prior to development. * Promote and encourage user testing and research techniques, and work closely with the Product Lead or UX partner to deliver. * Be involved in all stages of design, from project inception through to a live product. **What you will bring to our team:** * 5+ years' experience in similar design roles, ideally within an internal team however an agency background would be considered. * Hands-on experience experimenting with AI tools, and a natural curiosity to weave them into your everyday work. * Sketch, HTML & CSS (basic understanding), presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides). * A portfolio demonstrating a strong background in UI design would be advantageous. * A solid understanding of Material Design guidelines for Android and Human Interface Guidelines for iOS. * Desirable technical skills: Prototyping software, Invision. * Knowledgeable in best practices for user testing and user research. * You proactively seek open collaboration with other designers, squad members and stakeholders. * Strong communicator - you will be able to explain ideas simply & clearly, listen carefully to others, proactively improve team communication. * You're curious and driven to understand our consumers and their problems deeply. * Empathetic - objective, open to a diversity of thought, strives to understand our users. * Organised - able to manage your time well and deliver on commitments. **You'll have the best time working at Trade Me, and this is why:** **#AI and Tech:** We live and breathe AI in our daily tasks.
