  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)
  • Active Massachusetts PTA license in good standing
  • Experience using Net Health software preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Position Overview The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers skilled therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The role focuses on assisting residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical function while maintaining a supportive and professional care environment. Key Responsibilities Resident Care
  • Carry out prescribed physical therapy treatments to help reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve functional ability.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
  • Assist with implementing and adjusting treatment plans according to PT guidance.
  • Track and document resident progress including strength, mobility, and functional performance.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy sessions and report updates to the supervising therapist.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team (IDT) to support positive resident outcomes.
  • Offer education and guidance to residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy goals and exercises.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.

Training & Education
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning conferences.
  • Assist in training and supporting Restorative Nursing staff and caregivers.
  • Provide educational support for residents and families regarding therapy programs and exercises.
  • Support clinical education opportunities for PTA students when applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with required training, certifications, and continuing education standards.
