Consultant Gastroenterologist | Major Tertiary Referral Centre | High Procedural Demand
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major tertiary referral hospital in North Queensland and are keen to connect with FRACP Gastroenterologists interested in practising within a high-volume regional service.
This centre supports a vast catchment extending across northern Queensland and provides comprehensive gastroenterology services including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The caseload is diverse, spanning general gastroenterology, hepatology and complex regional referrals.
This role will appeal to Gastroenterologists seeking strong procedural exposure, tertiary-level complexity and long-term stability within a growing service.

The Hospital
This large tertiary teaching hospital functions as the principal referral centre for North Queensland and services a rapidly expanding population.
The Gastroenterology service provides:
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
  • ERCP capability
  • Inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology
  • Strong oncology, ICU and surgical interface
  • Regional and remote referral support
  • Teaching hospital affiliation

The department operates within a mature multidisciplinary environment with established consultant leadership and training responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Gastroenterology
  • Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
  • International Medical Graduates assessed by RACP as partially or substantially comparable
