FULL-TIME CHEF WANTED!!!Pier Farm is searching for experienced and creative head chef to lead our vibrant kitchen team at our waterfront location in Williamstown, VIC.About Pier Farm:Pier Farm is a renowned restaurant and bar, offering a delectable menu featuring fresh, seasonal produce and showcasing the finest local ingredients. We are passionate about creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for our guests, and our chefs play a vital role in this mission.About the Role:As Head Chef at Pier Farm, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, ensuring the smooth management and operation of our kitchen along with the consistent delivery of exceptional cuisine:· Menu planning and development: Collaborate with the culinary team to design innovative menus that reflect seasonal offerings and culinary trends.· Cost control: Estimate food and labour costs, and manage inventory to ensure efficient resource allocation.· Quality assurance: Meticulously monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation, upholding our high standards.· Communication and collaboration: Effectively communicate with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and waiting staff to discuss food preparation and address any concerns.· Skill sharing: Demonstrate culinary techniques and provide guidance on cooking procedures to elevate the skills of the kitchen team.· Culinary expertise: Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients, adhering to recipes and maintaining consistent quality.· Hygiene and safety: Champion a culture of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.· Staff development: Play a role in selecting and training new kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.· Food preservation: Employ techniques for freezing and preserving food items to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization. - At least 5 years of experience in a senior chef role
- Relevant Qualification in Hospitality
- A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
