Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to oversee and support a team of social workers within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality social services, particularly working with children and vulnerable families.   • Supervise and support a team of social workers, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee case management processes, including assessment, planning, intervention, and review for children and families.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to social workers, fostering professional development and best practice standards.
  • Ensure all cases are managed in compliance with legal frameworks, safeguarding policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations to facilitate holistic support for clients.
  • Monitor workload distribution within the team to maintain efficiency and prevent burnout.
  • Lead case reviews, audits, and team meetings to promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Promote a positive organisational culture centred on safeguarding, respect, and inclusivity.

Experience
  • Proven experience working with children within a social work or related environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with previous supervisory or managerial responsibilities preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures, and social work best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Organisational skills capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining high standards of practice.
