- Supervise and support a team of social workers, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and statutory requirements.
- Oversee case management processes, including assessment, planning, intervention, and review for children and families.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to social workers, fostering professional development and best practice standards.
- Ensure all cases are managed in compliance with legal frameworks, safeguarding policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Coordinate with external agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations to facilitate holistic support for clients.
- Monitor workload distribution within the team to maintain efficiency and prevent burnout.
- Lead case reviews, audits, and team meetings to promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Promote a positive organisational culture centred on safeguarding, respect, and inclusivity.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children within a social work or related environment.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with previous supervisory or managerial responsibilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures, and social work best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external partners.
- Organisational skills capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
