About Kin GymnasticsKin Gymnastics is a privately owned and operated gymnastics club located in Calgary, Alberta, with a strong focus on developing athletes from foundational levels through to high-performance competition. We are looking for dedicated and experienced WAG Coaches to support the expansion of our growing competitive gymnastics program, for both our Xcel and CCP (Canadian Competitive Program) athletes. Position OverviewKin Gymnastics is seeking Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Coaches to lead two or more WAG competitive gymnastics groups for the 2026/2027 season. Both Part-time (12-24 hours per week) and full-time (32+ hours per week) coaching positions are available.This role will be responsible for leading assigned groups, delivering structured training, and supporting athletes throughout their development and competitions. This role reports directly to the WAG Head Coach. Opportunities for increased responsibility and leadership will be available as the program continues to grow. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of competitive WAG athletes with a focus on building a high-standard technical foundation for our gymnasts that supports long-term progression.
  • Plan and deliver structured training, including short-term and annual programming, with a clear focus on skill development, physical preparation, and competition readiness.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge and experience as either a coach and/or former high-performance athlete (Code of Points, biomechanics, and progressions) to drive clean execution, appropriate difficulty, and athlete safety.
  • Provide confident, effective spotting to support skill progression, particularly for advanced elements.
  • Track athlete progress and adjust training based on performance, physical readiness, and mental development.
  • Create a disciplined, high-performance training environment that challenges athletes while supporting their well-being and resilience.
  • Act as a role model within the coaching team, fostering a collaborative learning environment and mentoring assistant coaches.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and staff, and represent the club at competitions and events.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in coaching competitive WAG athletes or experience as a high-performance athlete. Levels and program depth will determine placement and compensation.
  • A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or coaching certifications (e.g., NCCP C1/C2/C3 Training and/or Certification) is advantageous, but practical coaching experience and abilities are what matters most, as long as you are willing to pursue the required NCCP certification.
  • Respect in Sport, Making Ethical Decisions (MED), Safe Sport training/certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Enhanced Police Information Check or international equivalent.

Work Schedule
  • Starting date July 2026.
  • Approximately 12-24 hours per week for a part-time position. 32+ hours per week for a full-time position.
  • Two to five training days per week.Varying hours on weekdays and weekends based on training schedule and availability.
  • Ability to travel to attend competitions is required

  • Compensation is competitive and scaled based on experience, certification level, and the level of athletes coached, with opportunities for growth as responsibilities increase.
