- Develop and implement effective category management strategies to optimise procurement and inventory levels.
- Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate shipping schedules, route planning, and freight optimisation.
- Manage warehouse operations using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure efficient picking, packing, and storage processes.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to facilitate shipping, receiving, and distribution activities.
- Utilise Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as AS400 to monitor supply chain data, analyse trends, and generate reports for continuous improvement.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs across logistics functions.
- Supervise materials handling activities, including forklift operations and inventory control within warehouse environments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all logistics activities.
- Analyse data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the supply chain and develop strategic solutions.
- Manage shipping documentation, customs procedures, and delivery schedules to meet organisational deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics management or supply chain operations within a warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of category management, process optimisation, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and data analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; valid certification preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making purposes.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL) is desirable.
