The Role & ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will take full ownership of key mechanical subsystems, ensuring they are robust, cost‑effective, and production‑ready.
- Design Ownership: Lead the mechanical design of subsystems from concept through to manufacturing release.
- Technical Execution: Produce high-quality 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and necessary engineering calculations.
- Manufacturing Liaison: Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles to improve standards and reduce costs.
- International Coordination: Act as the engineering interface with international suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Problem Solving: Rapidly resolve design issues based on feedback from manufacturing and suppliers.
- Mentorship: Guide and review the work of junior engineers to maintain high standards of integrity and safety.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design within a production environment.
- Industry Background: Proven track record in the Marine, Wind, or Offshore sectors.
- Technical
Skills:
High proficiency in Siemens NX, Inventor
, or equivalent 3D CAD tools. - Fabrication Knowledge: Strong experience with large structural assemblies, welding, and fabrication.
- Standards: Familiarity with class or certification requirements (e.g.,
DNV or LR
). - Travel: Willingness to travel to manufacturing plants in China (approximately 1 week per quarter) and visit various supplier sites.
- Language (Highly Desirable): Fluency or partial fluency in Mandarin is a significant advantage and may command a higher salary bracket.
