Herd Manager – Dairy Farm Tokoroa / Waikato Full-time | Roster: 8 on / 2 off, 8 on / 3 offWe are looking for a motivated and capable Herd Manager to join our team on a well-run dairy farm milking 680 cows on 223 effective hectares. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in animal health, milk quality, and maintaining a tidy, efficient farm.About the Role: You’ll work alongside management to support the day-to-day running of the farm, with a strong focus on milking performance, herd health, and team support.

- Key Responsibilities: Milking & Dairy Confidently carry out efficient and hygienic milking, Monitor milk quality and assist with mastitis management, Maintain a clean and well-run dairy, Identify and report plant or system issues,
- Animal Health Monitor herd condition and identify issues early Assist with treatments, calving, and reproduction. Maintain accurate animal health records. Draft and manage lame or sick cows.
- Feed & Pasture, assist with pasture allocation and feed planning, feed out supplements and minimise wastage. Monitor pasture quality and grazing residuals
- Machinery & MaintenanceOperate tractors and farm machinery safelyCarry out general farm maintenance (fencing, water systems)Support effluent system operation
- Team & Communication Work well within a team and support junior staff Communicate clearly with management Contribute to a positive farm culture
