Your job Are you excited about food technology and education? Do you get energized from organizing courses and practicals? Do you like to support your colleagues and students? You might be the new education support we are looking for! We are looking for an education support colleague for the department of Food Quality and Design (FQD) at Wageningen University. Your job will be to assist staff members in all sorts of activities related to FQD including: teaching FQD courses, supervising thesis students, and developing brand new and updating existing education material. In addition, you will support the internship team with contacting internship providers, sharing internship vacancies and answering internship-related questions. Within this job you will have a variety of responsibilities, in which you can develop yourself on the spot. To be eligible, you should have a natural interest in education (development) and have a background in Food Science. Familiarity with Wageningen education is a plus, but candidates with a similar background are also invited to apply. You will preferably be available from August 2026, when the new academic year starts. Your duties and responsibilities include:
Your team You will work at Food Quality and Design group, which is a large multidisciplinary and international chair group. The vision of the group is that health, sustainability, and quality aspects of food products are fundamental "to explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life", i.e. the mission of Wageningen University and Research. The objectives of FQD are to develop new scientific knowledge on food design and quality management and to train future generations for positions at the boundary between food technology and other disciplines. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3382,-. and €4484,-. for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8). Additionally, a contract for 0.8 FTE can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance. - assisting in courses: courses coordination, organizing and supporting practical, supervising group work editing the Brightspace, organizing the examinations and communicating with the students;
- supporting the internship team: communication with students and companies and matching WUR supervisors with internship topics;
- developing and updating education materials;

- reading reports and giving feedback.

- master Food Technology or similar; some work experience in food industry or in a relevant education setting after graduation would be a plus;
- available from August/September 2026;
- preferably experience in educational activities, both in individual student supervision (e.g. student supervision in courses and/or thesis projects) and courses (e.g. lecturing, supervision of groups);
- affinity with working in a multidisciplinary group in an international context;
- excellent command of written and spoken English.
