Key Tasks & Responsibilities Do you have proven experience installing/Retro-fitting ceiling, underfloor, wall insulation, and ground-moisture barrier products in existing & new residential homes, and commercial buildings, including under the government's EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes programme? If yes, this is the role for you! * Permanent role * Pay range $27.44 - $29.66 p/hour * Guaranteed 30 hours per week minimum * Based in Ramarama, Franklin Blackbarn Insulation is a leading provider of home and commercial insulation upgrades in the Auckland area based in Ramarama in Franklin. You will be travelling to private homes and construction sites throughout the Auckland area, so a full, clean class 1 Driver Licence is essential as you will be driving a Blackbarn work van. You also need to be able to get to Ramarama reliably by 7.00am Mon-Fri. You will have proven experience of installing insulation under EECA’s Warmer Kiwi Homes programme and also New Build insulation installs. Experience in both areas is required as you will need to work flexibly undertaking both EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes insulation upgrades, and New Build installs in residential and commercial buildings depending on work-flows. The EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes programme requires the highest standards of insulation upgrades to strict EECA standards and guidelines. As such, be familiar with required installation methods including identifying, clearing, and recording different types of lights, 3-in-1 units and other electrical and plumbing fittings, and ensuring correct abutting & blocking clearances required under the programme. You will be familiar with required Health & Safety standards and protocols and have a strong focus on Health & Safety for yourself and others, including team-mates and home-owners. You will be happy working in confined spaces (ceilings and underfloor) and be able to handle tools and equipment with care, and physically man-handle insulation materials without damaging property. Good numeracy, literacy and accuracy are important, as are strong communication, customer service skills, and respect, as you will be operating in peoples' private homes and on building sites. You will wear your Blackbarn Uniform with pride and take care of all vehicles, equipment and gear. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and hold a valid work visa if a non-New Zealand Resident or Citizen. This role requires a minimum 2 years experience in insulation installing and is ANZSCO Skill Level 4. An understanding of Tagalog language and Filipino culture would be helpful as several of our team are native Filipino.
