About the Role:Surveying at Flinders University is entering an exciting period of growth and renewal, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of land surveying education in South Australia. As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Land Surveying (Teaching Specialist - Practitioner), you will join a collaborative and industry-connected team delivering practice-based education that prepares graduates for professional registration and successful careers in surveying and geospatial practice.This teaching-focused position will see you contribute to high-quality learning experiences across cadastral surveying, land law and administration, and land development. At Senior Lecturer level, you will also provide leadership through mentoring colleaguesand supporting industry engagement activities that strengthen the discipline's national reputation.In this role, you will:
  • Deliver engaging, industry-relevant teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate surveying programs.
  • Design and enhance innovative curricula that prepare students for professional registration and contemporary surveying practice.
  • Build strong partnerships with industry, government and professional bodies to create opportunities for students and graduates.

This position is open to both domestic and international candidates, with relocation and visa support available for the successful applicant.About You:
You are a passionate and collaborative educator with contemporary professional experience in land surveying and a commitment to student success. Whether you are an emerging academic (Level B) or an experienced educational leader (Level C), you are excited by the opportunity to shape the next generation of surveyors and contribute to the continued growth of surveying education at Flinders.You will bring:
  • A completed PhD (or equivalent professional standing) in surveying, geospatial information systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • Obtain or eligible to obtain a current License with the Surveyors Board of South Australia (or inter-state or New Zealand equivalent).
  • Strong industry connections and the ability to build productive partnerships with government, professional and community stakeholders.
