Care and Support Worker The CARE Village Location: Rotorua, Bay of Plenty Category: Healthcare – Caregiving Employment type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week Salary Range: $23.97 - $29.25 Hourly Pay Range: Subject to completed qualifications or experience About The CARE Village: The CARE Village is a leading aged care community known for its person-centered approach, vibrant village culture and commitment to supporting residents to live meaningful, connected lives. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, inclusive environment for residents, families and staff alike. The CARE Village operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be required to work a range of shifts, AM, PM Nocte and weekends. The CARE Village is looking for caregivers to join our team. Full time and part time positions available. Guaranteed 30 Hours per week. As a Caregiver you will be required to provide daily care delivery for our residents in line with individual nursing care plans and resident requests. PURPOSE: Caregiver staff are part of the care team and performs tasks as specified, relating to resident care, work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse who is accountable for that care. Key Responsibilities: Clinical • Provides daily care delivery for residents in line with individual nursing care plans and resident requests • Observes and communicates changes in resident’s conditions as appropriate • Acts as an advocate for the residents and families and encourages the involvement of resident and family in care • Communication skills are demonstrated consistently at an appropriate level Operational • Follows organizations Policy and Procedure in all matters • Ensures all resources are used appropriately and, in a cost, effective manner while balancing the needs of the resident against the needs of the business • Participates in the quality improvement program within the team in line with the QI plan for the site • A consistently high standard of professional stands and customer service will be always delivered. Professional standards and development • Takes responsibility for a high standard of personal presentation • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality • Always maintains professional boundaries • Takes responsibility for active participation in own professional development Health & Safety • Takes responsibility for health and safety in line with the requirements of the Health and Safety Act and with organizations policy and guidelines • Ensure that all work complies with the organizations health and safety policies • Processes are carried out as per guidelines, instructions and standards to minimize risks General • Ensure that all work complies with organizations policies and procedures • Maintains a high standard of teamwork and initiative • Perform any other general duties as required by Management Essential: • Must be a NZ resident OR have a current visa with eligibility to work in NZ • NZ Citizens and Residents are welcome to apply and will be considered first, before offering to an AEWV applicant. • Must be able to work rostered shifts including weekends. • Must have at least one year experience or relevant qualifications. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Need to be willing to embrace our philosophy of care, which is an important part of life for our residents. • Want to make a difference in the lives of people living in aged care homes.
