- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with ADHD symptoms, including medical history and current medication use
- Prescribe, review, and monitor medication regimens in accordance with clinical guidelines and individual patient needs
- Provide education and counselling to patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and lifestyle considerations
- Collaborate with GPs, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop holistic care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of consultations, prescriptions, and follow-up actions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimise outcomes
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards related to nonmedical prescribing practices
- Stay informed about the latest developments in ADHD management and pharmacology through continuous professional development
Qualifications
- Registered healthcare professional (e.g., nurse independent prescriber, pharmacist independent prescriber) with valid registration with the appropriate regulatory body
- Proven experience in patient care within mental health or neurological settings is desirable
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to neuropsychiatric conditions
- Demonstrated competence in medication administration and management of prescribing responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to clinical governance standards
