Job description

The Cardiology Department at King’s Mill Hospital is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Auditor to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. Committed to delivering outstanding patient care, we are looking for a motivated individual who shares our passion for excellence and continuous improvement.

As a Clinical Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the service to meet nationally agreed targets and standards. You will be a key point of contact for colleagues, providing expert guidance, responding to enquiries, and ensuring effective communication across the service.

You will take ownership of managing multiple cardiology audits, balancing competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency. Your ability to maintain meticulous records, monitor performance, and ensure high-quality data will be essential. This role demands strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to service development and quality improvement while working within a supportive team environment. If you are driven, detail-focused, and committed to making a positive impact on patient care, we would love to hear from you.

Collect and validate patient data from case notes and Cardiac Catheter Suite records, supporting national Cardiac Audits and ensuring accurate, timely submissions.

Maintain and update national databases, contributing to high-quality data analysis and the production of monthly and quarterly reports for Cardiology services.

Produce clear performance reports for the Trust Board, Division of Medicine, and Finance teams, supporting monitoring, planning, commissioning, and service development.

Work closely with Clinical Heads of Service to provide insightful data that informs financial planning, business cases, and quality improvement.

Use systems including Microsoft Office, Medway, and PRISM to create professional reports, presentations, and data outputs, while supporting colleagues in their use.

Uphold strict confidentiality at all times when handling sensitive patient and service information.

Collaborate with audit leads to develop and enhance data collection tools to meet both internal and national reporting requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your analytical skills and attention to detail to make a real impact on service improvement and patient care within Cardiac services.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
