Job Title: Shop SupervisorLocation: Thatcham RG18Job Type: Full-time, Permanent / Fixed-term (60-month contract)Salary: £28, 000- £32,000 per annumStart Date: 15/05/26Visa Sponsorship: AvailablePosition OverviewWe are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated Shop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail premises. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring outstanding customer service, managing staff performance, and supporting the ongoing growth of the business.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a hands-on approach to retail operations. Full training will be provided.Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of shop staff
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve any issues or complaints professionally
• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked store environment
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed targets
• Order stock from approved suppliers at competitive rates in a timely manner
• Purchase goods from local cash & carry outlets when necessary
• Plan and execute in-store promotions to increase customer engagement and sales
• Adjust pricing strategically to maximise profit and minimise product waste
• Manage daily cash banking and ensure timely payments to suppliers and staff
• Recruit, train, and support new team members
• Create and manage staff rotas; provide regular performance feedback
• Report daily to Directors on sales, purchases, wastage, and overall shop operations
• Work closely with other departments to improve workflow and overall efficiency

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or retail management role
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
• Commercial awareness and attention to operational detail
• Basic IT and financial reporting knowledge
• Flexible, hands-on, and customer-focused mindset

Working Hours

• 8-hour shifts
• Flexibility may be required to meet business needs
