What You'll DoAs an Accountant Trainee, you'll play a key role in our SMSF accounting operations by:

• Prepare Financial Statements for SMSF clients, including annual Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements
• Prepare and lodge Annual Tax Returns for SMSF clients at end of financial year
• Maintain and advise on the application of our computerised accounting systems
• Assist senior accountants in advising clients on accounting policies, transactions and taxation matters
• Attend to annual compliance obligations such as PAYG, GST and BAS for SMSF clients
• Liaise with the ATO, financial institutions and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Maintain awareness of ISO 27001 standards for secure practices
• Support other administrative functions as required by the business

What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:

• A tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Actuarial Studies
• Academic achievement with a GPA/WAM of at least 70%
• Strong attention to detail and uncompromising accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously
• Excellent email writing skills
• A can-do attitude with the ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Experience in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment (desirable)
• Prior experience working in an accounting firm (advantageous)
