What You'll DoAs an Accountant Trainee, you'll play a key role in our SMSF accounting operations by:
- Prepare Financial Statements for SMSF clients, including annual Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements
- Prepare and lodge Annual Tax Returns for SMSF clients at end of financial year
- Maintain and advise on the application of our computerised accounting systems
- Assist senior accountants in advising clients on accounting policies, transactions and taxation matters
- Attend to annual compliance obligations such as PAYG, GST and BAS for SMSF clients
- Liaise with the ATO, financial institutions and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Maintain awareness of ISO 27001 standards for secure practices
- Support other administrative functions as required by the business
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Actuarial Studies
- Academic achievement with a GPA/WAM of at least 70%
- Strong attention to detail and uncompromising accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent email writing skills
- A can-do attitude with the ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment (desirable)
- Prior experience working in an accounting firm (advantageous)
