Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Clinical Fellow (F2 Level) in General Surgery to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Withybush General Hospital (WGH), Haverfordwest.
This 12-month fixed-term post offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your clinical experience within a busy General Surgery department that places a strong emphasis on education, training and professional development. Our supportive learning culture includes regular audit and governance meetings, teaching during daily trauma meetings, and dedicated educational sessions. There are also numerous opportunities to contribute to service development and quality improvement projects, helping you strengthen your portfolio and enhance your career progression.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrates a genuine desire to develop their knowledge and skills.
The successful candidate will participate in the resident on-call rota, which includes cross-cover responsibilities with the Trauma and Orthopaedics team.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide high-quality surgical care within both hospital and community settings, supporting the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness. Responsibilities will include the assessment and management of acute surgical inpatients, working effectively within multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the ongoing development of surgical services.
The successful candidate will also play an active role in teaching, training, clinical governance, research and quality improvement initiatives, helping to support the continued delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care across the organisation.
